Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

We only collect what's needed to run your account and the game.

Account information (Player ID). When you create a Player ID, we store:

• Your username
• Your password, stored only as a salted PBKDF2-SHA256 hash — we never store or transmit your password in plain text
• Your email address
• Your in-game display name
• An optional skin image you choose to upload

Authentication. When you log in, we set a single session cookie containing an opaque, randomly generated token. It is HttpOnly, strictly necessary to keep you logged in, held only in server memory, and cleared when you log out. It is not used for advertising or tracking.

Gameplay data. When you connect to the multiplayer server, your display name, skin, and in-game progress — such as territory/chunk claims, world data, and gameplay statistics like score or kill counts — are associated with your account so the game works across sessions.

Moderation data. If an account is restricted or banned, we store the ban status, reason, and expiry to enforce our rules.

Technical/server data. Like virtually all internet services, our servers may automatically record limited technical information — such as IP address and timestamps — for security, abuse prevention, and to operate the service. We do not use this to build advertising profiles.

2. What we do not do

• We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking/marketing cookies.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
• We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

3. How we use your information

We use your information only to:

• Create and maintain your account, and authenticate you
• Verify your email address and send account-related messages
• Display your name and skin to you and other players in-game
• Save and sync your gameplay progress
• Operate, secure, and moderate the game and its servers

4. Email

Your email address is used solely to verify your account and to send essential account-related messages (such as the verification link). Verification emails are delivered through a third-party email/SMTP provider acting on our behalf. We do not send marketing email and do not share your address with third parties for their own use.

5. Sharing with third parties

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the game (for example, our email delivery and server hosting providers), and only as needed to provide the service. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our players or us.

6. Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. If your account is deleted — by you on request, or by an administrator — your account record and uploaded skin are removed. Transient technical logs are kept only as long as needed for operations and security.

7. Your rights

You can:

• Access and update your display name, email, and skin from your Player ID account page
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at [email protected]

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or similar laws), you may also have rights to access, correct, export, or restrict the processing of your data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. To exercise any of these, contact us.

8. Children's privacy

Chunk Survival is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We protect your data with measures including salted password hashing (PBKDF2-SHA256), HttpOnly session cookies, and email verification for new accounts. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by notice in the game or on our website.
